Special EVIL DEAD Benefit Performance Friday 4/17/15

This was originally posted to the Las Vegas EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL site in 2015. You’ll be seeing a lot of these archival posts from my days with EVIL DEAD to make sure they don’t get lost in the shuffle of the interwebs. Plus it is a bit of fun to stroll down memory lane…

This Friday will be a special benefit performance of EVIL DEAD and we hope to see all of our fans there.

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL opened here in Las Vegas in October 2011. It was presented in a small off-Strip venue and was supposed to run for only 3 weeks.

Its popularity has since propelled it to success that we could never have imagined at the outset.

One of the original performers in the production was Russell Slouffman. He started as a Deadite and eventually created the much-beloved character “Undead Michael Jackson” that was a part of the show on the Las Vegas Strip during its first year at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Russell was a spirited performer, a loyal friend, and a passionate person who was a true joy to be around.

Earlier this month he was in a tragic car accident. He passed away from his injuries days later.

As much as the event itself is a tragedy, it is made even worse by the fact that the situation has left his family with hospital and funeral expenses that are overwhelming.

We will be dedicating our performance this Friday, 4/17/15, to Russell. We will also be donating a portion of ticket sales to his family and will be collecting donations in the lobby after the show.

We hope that our fans will come out in droves and help us show our love to Russell and his family this Friday 4/17/15.

Hey guys! Chris Palkow aka Sirc Michaels here. I wanted to reiterate that this is NOT my original story, but it IS something I give a crap about! I hope you find it informative and interesting! Leave your comments and share!
