SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLOODY!!

Originally posted to EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL site 10/18/13 – You’ll be seeing a lot of these archival posts from my days with EVIL DEAD to make sure they don’t get lost in case the original site goes down. Plus it is a bit of fun to stroll down memory lane…

Today is the big day for our very first EVIL DEAD WEDDING! Meet the couple who is having their wedding at our show!

First up is Andrea Vasquez and Rob Park of Arizona! They were planning on having their zombie-themed wedding on October 18th but, like so many others, got the dreaded “we’re closing” letter from Goretorium. We heard about their story on the news and offered to help them out.

You might wonder what sort of person might want a zombie-themed wedding. You might think they celebrate Halloween all year long, dressed entirely in black and listening to goth-inspired music. If that is what you think, you should read on.

Rob and Andrea are in their mid-twenties. They met in a dog park in January of 2008, where they took their dogs for their daily runs. After 3 months, they were dating, and their dogs went everywhere with them – hiking, camping, and even family gatherings.

Rob’s proposal came on Valentine’s Day of 2011. He pretended to forget it was Valentine’s Day until that evening when he surprised Andrea with a gift card to a day of pampering at a spa. And behind the card was Andrea’s engagement ring.

The couple wanted something different for their wedding because, in Andrea’s words, “traditional weddings can be boring”. The couple share a love of dogs, each other, and WALKING DEAD – so they decided a zombie wedding would be fun and memorable. They finally centered on the Goretorium in Las Vegas, where they felt they had all their plans put together. That is, until the Goretorium closed and EVIL DEAD stepped up to help them out.

They have over 30 friends and family members coming to Las Vegas, including one of Rob’s best friends who is an EOD in the Army and is coming from Virginia to celebrate the special event with the couple. They also have guests coming from Arizona (where the couple lives), California, and Michigan.

In addition to the wedding ceremony, the party will be treated to a special reception before the show starting at 8pm in the V Theater Veranda Bar catered by Hi-Scores Bar-Arcade, as well as a night of hanging out with the cast after the show at Blondie’s Bar.

We invite you to come to the show on the 18th and celebrate the couple’s special day with us! We’ll be kicking ass and taking names at the show, and we want to make sure there is a full house to see it!

So use the coupon above and JOIN US! It is only good today, for today’s performance. It has to be brought in person to the box office. It can’t be used over the phone or online. Print it out, bring it to the box office, and prepare for kickassery!

We’ve included some KILLER pics they sent to us so you can see how sweet they are – and to propel you, our fans, to come out celebrate with us! It’ll be a normal show, like always, but it’ll have this AWESOME wedding smack dab in the middle of it during intermission!!! It’s gonna be damned INSANE!!!

Come celebrate Rob and Andrea’s wedding with us, and help us make this a night they’ll remember forever!
