The cult hit musical based on Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy is in Sin City at the V-Theater in Planet Hollywood. And thanks to the awesomeness of Mrs. Man-Cave, yours truly (an admitted Evil Dead mark) got to check it out in person after a nine-year wait for my birthday! To my surprise, my better half found an ad for it in one of those Vegas magazines and she figured that would be an ideal b-day gift for such a strange person as me. She was right, of course.

We purchased VIP seats for center seating but far enough away from the show’s Splatter Zone – where the “4-D” aspect of the show comes into play. If you are in these seats, or close to them, you are guaranteed to be soaked in blood. The theater is an intimate setting yet we were lucky to stay out of harm’s way in terms of blood baths. The first two Evil Deads were shot on minuscule budget, so it is apropos that this particular Vegas program is as well. But the props they do have, such as the beloved red chainsaw and “boomstick”, are perfect and show that there is a true fan spirit in the production – and that is all that matters in the end. And how do they deal with the huge bridge that gets destroyed in the films? Let’s just say that it is pretty hilarious and the talent sells the comedy of that visual aid tenfold.

If you are a fellow Deadite and are in Vegas during this show’s run, seeing it is a no-brainer. This is the best economical purchase and return on your investment that you can make on the Strip, and you are sure to easily get your money’s worth. Be warned that if you sit in the Splatter Zone, you will get drenched by the fake blood. It is Evil Dead after all…would you expect to walk out of it unscathed?

Hey guys! Chris Palkow aka Sirc Michaels here. I wanted to reiterate that this is NOT my original story, but it IS something I give a crap about! I hope you find it informative and interesting! Leave your comments and share!
