This was originally posted to the Las Vegas EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL site in 2014. You’ll be seeing a lot of these archival posts from my days with EVIL DEAD to make sure they don’t get lost in the shuffle of the interwebs. Plus it is a bit of fun to stroll down memory lane…

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been taking social media by storm. Individuals have taken the challenge, large families have done it together, firefighters have been injured while trying it, PETA has decried it funding research that is cruel to animals, and even celebrities are jumping into the act by getting blasted with water for the cause. The challenge has been making its way up and down the Las Vegas Strip, with one show after another challenging each other. It was only a matter of time before the challenge was sent to us.

We have actually been challenged by multiple persons, but the one we were first aware of came from The Australian Bee Gees Show, a tribute show that plays at the Luxor. If you’re ever in the mood to walk down memory lane check the show it. It’s fantastic.

Anyway, we accepted the challenge gleefully but – being who we are – we couldn’t just do the challenge as it was and leave it at that.

We’ve been dumping blood over our fans for over 2 years, and we thought it was only appropriate to do the same to ourselves.

So we got 5 gallon buckets, gathered the EVIL DEAD gang, and broke ourselves into 3 groups. Each group nominated one person or show, and then a 5 gallon bucket filled with ice and blood was dumped over each person’s head. No pansy-assed tiny spatter of water for us!
